Welcome to the website of Dr Kim Armstrong Psychology, Clinical Psychologist
Based in Geelong, I am a clinical psychologist offering psychological assessment and therapy for individuals aged 18 years and over. I am also highly experienced in conducting victims of crime assessments and preparing victims of crime compensation reports.
I can assist with a variety of problems, including everyday stress and challenges as well as more serious mental health issues such as trauma, depression and anxiety. I have a client centred approach to therapy focusing on working collaboratively with the individual to develop specific goals and strategies that will enable you to look at issues with a different perspective, enhance your skills, strengths and resources with a view to greater confidence, independence and improved management of unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Solution Focused Therapy. A Personal Approach to My Specialisations My specialisations include Victims of Crime assessment, therapy and VOCAT report preparation. Recognised service provider for the TAC; WorkCover and NDIS. I pride myself on having a very down to earth and easy to understand therapeutic style which makes clients feel at ease from their first session. I work hard to create a safe, warm and non-judgemental environment for clients to discuss their problems and work towards a resolution. I have a 95+% client retention rate. I hold a Doctorate qualification and specialist endorsement under AHPRA but still offer bulk billing for clients who are referred by their GP under a Mental Health Care Plan and hold a concession card. Since opening my Geelong practice in 2009 I have worked with over 800 clients who have trusted me to help them through specific challenges. Please contact me to discuss your needs in complete confidence. |
